  • CEREMONIAL CACAO MAKING, IS A SLOW PROCESS HONORING ALL THE ELEMENTS AND THE SPIRIT OF THE MEDICINE.

Cacao in its most purest form is a medicine that has been used ceremonially for thousands of years in Central/South America.

Ceremonial Grade Cacao is very different from the chocolate you buy in just any common health food store.

A traditionally prepared high quality Ceremonial Cacao is following the footsteps of thousands of years of shamans, by using their traditional approach from plant to cup.

  • There are many different types of Ceremonial Grade Cacao brands on the market and each company work with the medicine in their own way. After trying several different types of Cacao, Anna choose to work more or less exclusively with KEITH’S CACAO from Kaqchikel Mayan community of San Marcos, Guatemala.

This Ceremonial Grade Cacao is prepared honoring traditional indigenous methods to ensure full potency, the quality and taste is delicious and consistent.

    • The Cacao fruits are tended to with love and patience.

    • The beans are hand peeled and examined twice by at-home female entrepreneurs and local workshop team, each bean goes through a rigorous inspection in order to remove any low-quality beans or other contaminants.

    • The Cacao plants are growing wildly in the rainforest (non hybridized).

    • The company are paying back to the local community and families in Guatemala. ption

  • Drinking ceremonial grade cacao can offer several potential benefits:

    1. Mood Enhancement:
Cacao contains compounds like phenylethylamine (PEA) and anandamide, which are associated with feelings of euphoria and happiness. These chemicals can promote a sense of well-being and lift mood.

    2. Increased Energy:
Cacao contains natural stimulants like theobromine and caffeine, which can provide a gentle energy boost without the jitteriness often associated with coffee or other caffeinated beverages.

    3. Improved Focus and Concentration:
The mild stimulants in cacao can help enhance focus and concentration, making it a good option for tasks that require mental clarity.

    4. Antioxidant Properties:
Cacao is rich in antioxidants, particularly flavonoids, which can help combat oxidative stress in the body and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

    5. Heart Health:
Some studies suggest that the flavonoids in cacao may have benefits for heart health, including improving blood flow, lowering blood pressure, and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

    6. Nutrient-Rich:
Cacao is a good source of several essential nutrients, including magnesium, iron, and zinc, which are important for overall health and well-being.

    7. Spiritual and Ceremonial Benefits:
In ceremonial contexts, drinking cacao can be a meditative and introspective experience. Many people find that it helps them connect with themselves and others on a deeper level, facilitating emotional healing and spiritual growth.

  • The Cacao Medicine preparations are a combination of honoring Maya traditions and Anna’s own rituals.
She prepares the medicine with love, care and presence.

She sing - Smudge and Pray - to assure the brew is fully charged before serving:)

Anna work with high quality Guatemalan Ceremonial Grade Cacao and PREPARE THE MEDICINE WITH NOTHING OTHER THAN WATER to ensure the medicine in its purest form.

Depending on the season and location, she might occasionally add organic spices but only if it feels needed and she usually doesn’t add any sweetener.

  • Her journey really began in the summer of 2018 in the forest of Oregon in the pouring rain.
This is when she took place in the first Cacao Ceremony with the exact medicine she use in her owo ceremonies today.
It was a profound experience where all the elements (earth, water, fire, air anh spirit) colided and her heart opened in a way she had never experienced before. An experience that changed her life forever.

Since then Anna had been working with Ceremonial Grade Cacao daily to allow the medicine to be her greatest teacher.

In 2019 she went to Mexico to learn more about the harvesting and fermentation process and in 2020 she traveled to Guatemalan where she got to walk the rainforests for the first time, to sit with the beautiful cacao plants and learn more about the lineage of the medicine from indigenous Maya families and with Keith Wilson, as people call him "the Cacao Shaman" in Lake Atitlan.

Her Ceremonies have taken place in private homes, on large stages, studios, retreat spaces, wild jungles, abundant forests, open fields, and enchanting deserts in locations such as Copenhagen, Sweden, Italy, Portugal, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nyc, Los Angeles, Joshua Tree and the list continues..
